Awesome small light [UPDATED]
By M. Carlson
I systematic this on spec wholly awaiting I'd have to lapse it due to a inadequate clamp after reading several of a reviews here. Now I'm commencement to consternation if these people got a same light we did. No one has mentioned that this light comes with an additional rubber grommet that can be private for incomparable bars. Is this a new further formed on user feedback? we left it in a clamp when we initial attempted to implement it on my towering bike bar and it took all my bid to clamp down 2 clicks. After several night and early morning rides on some of a rockiest bumpiest trails (and even a fall), that light hasn't budged. There's usually adequate give that enables me to prove a light a small reduce for approaching trade or aloft for some-more distance. Honestly we couldn't be happier with a clamp!
The light defaults to middle liughtness when we initial spin it on. The second click on a intense immature energy symbol brings it to high and a third to low, onward to medium, etc. Hold a symbol down for 2 seconds to spin it off. I've found a low environment is adequate for roving my informed trails in impassioned darkness. So far, I've found a high environment is mostly profusion yet good to have on arise when attack an unknown trail. My initial float was 90 mins during 5am. we kept it on low a whole float and never felt a need to click it higher.
The light comes with a bar clamp, removable rubber grommet, and a helmet mountain (which we haven't attempted and have no skeleton to). A wall horse and detachable USB wire also come in a box. The instructions explain it takes 5 hours to assign from empty. Charging from a mechanism seems to be slower than from a wall unit. we beheld it took 5 hours to assign after a 2-hour float on low environment when trustworthy to my laptop. So, there was still lots of extract in a battery before we started a recharge.
It's truly extraordinary to see how distant LED light record has come in usually a few years. This section puts my buddy's HID light to shame! Plus, he has to use a Velcro tag to insert a battery section to his tip tube. The minewt is a plume compared to his kit, and a blowtorch compared to his beam.
Bottom line: This is a illusory device that has astounded me in 3 ways. It's lighter, brighter, and tighter than we expected! Highly recommended!
UPDATE (1/20/12) I've used this light for several months and several hundred miles of night riding. Two of my roving buddies have acquired this light after saying it in movement on my rig. The mountain is still intensely stable, yet we have a 31.8mm bar. If we have a narrower bar or a highway bike, YMMV. we still float with a environment on low in many circumstances, confident in a volume of light this provides for my character of riding. we have not seen a low battery indicator on any of my rides durability adult to 3 hours. However, one of my buddies rides on high environment and confirms that a advertised battery life seems to be flattering accurate. A wholly charged light on high environment will uncover a "low battery" around 1:35-1:40.
In my strange review, we settled that we had no goal of perplexing a helmet mount. Even yet we cite roving with a light on my bar, I've schooled that it is a good thought to tag a flare mountain onto your helmet anyway. When we get that unavoidable prosaic tire or automatic out on a trail, we can insert a light to your helmet while we work on regulating a problem.
Tonight, we attempted to spin on my light around nightfall and a symbol glowed red any time we pulpy it. No light. Ended adult relying on my buddy's Minewt 600 and bypassed some singular lane for wider glow highway for a lapse outing to a cars. On my expostulate home, we detected that we had unknowingly put a light into "Lock" mode. If we had usually reason a symbol down for 5 seconds, a symbol would have incited green. Then another press illuminated adult a bulb. Won't make that mistake again.
I've also started night roving with my daughters. We have been roving far-reaching glow highway trials regulating usually my light to irradiate a path. It substantially won't be prolonged before we buy a second light that we can use on my helmet when we go roving with my buddies or snap onto my girls' bar before a small family rides.

How could NiteRider disaster adult a mountain so badly?
By SeeBeeKay
I consider this object deserves 3 stars: 6 for a light section (it's that good) and reduction 3 for a handlebar mount.
Finally, technological advances authorised NiteRider to mix a super splendid light and battery in one affordable unit. No some-more hassling with apart battery packs and cables! The light itself is intensely good designed. It is lightweight, yet feels solid. USB charging allows me to simply find a gangling horse during a bureau or a friend's house. The charging pier is permitted so we can leave it on a bike while charging. The control allows me to entrance a many preferred liughtness levels quickly. The section goes to middle spin (a good choice) by default when we spin it on. Repeated pushes cycle by high, low, and behind to medium. Walking (extra low) and blinking modes are accessed usually by holding a symbol down for a integrate seconds, that we like given we will occasionally use these modes. And of march it is really splendid and clear. There is no doubt a motorists can see me during my winter commute, and we have no problem zooming down a high highway in a dim during 30 miles per hour.
So we am left wondering, how could this association that's been creation bike lights given a midst 90s make such a god-awful handlebar mount? we see that they attempted to incorporate facilities we want: we can change a instruction a light is indicating easily. we can mislay a light while withdrawal a mountain on a bike. But infrequently we like to mislay a mountain to pierce it to another bike, or to minimize handlebar confusion for illumination rides. The mountain simply does not reason onto my 32-mm handlebar. we can't tighten a clamp parsimonious adequate to get adequate friction, so highway vibrations means a light to stagger downward. A thinner shim didn't help. Eventually, we jerry fraudulent a multiple of edge fasten and double-sided tape. It works, yet we don't wholly trust this arrangement. And we do not wish to mislay a mountain to pierce it to my other bike, given we would have to futz around with it again. The idea of shopping a second of these cruddy mounts for my second bike heedfulness me.
This conditions calls out for a mountain with a certain fasten that binds tight. So NiteRider, greatfully redesign this mount, and soon. This light is a many smashing thing, and it deserves a mountain that works.

Very Bright Light
By Adrian Goldstein
This is a really splendid light, about a same as a automobile headlight on high power, yet most whiter. Run time is a bit short, about 1 hour on high power, yet there are reduce energy settings. Also has a good flashing duty for pale days. Mount is secure. Be careful, light gets hot. Recharges in about 4 hours with enclosed USB cord on mechanism or wall adaptor (included). Also has a red diode to prove recharge needed.
